Favite offers two types of anti-counterfeiting solutions, including high-security solution and low-cost solution. The low-cost solution is to meet the low-security anti-counterfeiting requirements, such as access control, member cards, and anti-counterfeiting tags for low-cost agricultural products and live stocks. The high-security solution is to meet the anti-counterfeiting tagging requirements for valuable goods, such as well-known branding products, cigarette and alcohol related products, cosmetics and pharmaceutical drugs.
Both two Favite-patented anti-counterfeiting solutions are UHF type, and support read-range of 30cm. The tag is unable to be cloned by current HF and UHF readers and tags. For low-cost solution, it uses the specific RFID architecture and Unique Identifier Code in RFID chip which is locked by Favite permanently to achieve anti-counterfeiting purpose.
Meanwhile, Favite has integrated 160-bit elliptic curve cryptography (ECC) encryption and decryption engine into the tag IC which supports the high-secured public key infrastructure (PKI) compliant to IEEE 1363a. The ECC encryption algorithm provides the stringent security per bit of any known public-key scheme, and the 160-bit ECC algorithm is compatible to 1024-bit RSA algorithm which provides the same level of security feature but is only one-third the computing power and storage.
The anti-counterfeiting requirement is an item-level application with huge tag volume. Besides the technology issue, the cost of tag and reader is the key factor for the solution to be adopted by anti-counterfeiting applications or not. Favite adopted UHF RFID technology for anti-counterfeiting solution due to its competitive tag manufacturing cost which slashes the price under 10 cents. In addition, Favite has developed powerful UHF RFID reader with target selling price to be under 30 US dollars for low-cost anti-counterfeiting solution. With Favite’s solution, all the applications which need product protection with authentication and encryption is able to afford the investment, boosting the anti-counterfeiting market forward rapidly.
